Despite months of Maurizio Sarri being linked with Chelsea, the Italian is yet to be appointed as the new Chelsea manager.
Blues legend Gianfranco Zola is reportedly set to join Sarri’s backroom staff to help the new manager settle, but Zola’s appointment is tied to Chelsea completing Sarri’s deal.
Zola’s representative Fulvio Marrucco has revealed his frustration over the delays with the Chelsea managerial appointment while speaking to Radio Crc, insisting nothing can be finalised with his client until Sarri officially takes over.
“We need to find an agreement between Sarri and Napoli,” Marrucco said.
“It’s a negotiation which hasn’t taken off, I’ve heard ‘tomorrow will be the right day’ so many times, but too many tomorrows have passed.
“Zola has no agreements with Chelsea. At the moment we are waiting for Sarri, for a resolution with Conte, for an agreement between Chelsea and Napoli and also an agreement between Sarri and the London club.
“If all that happens, Zola and Sarri can talk about an eventual collaboration. Zola hasn’t had any contact, nor have I ever gone to London.”
