Chelsea are leading the race to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara according to a report on ESPN.
The report on ESPN claims Chelsea and rivals Manchester United have both enquired about signing the 27-year-old midfielder from Bayern Munich.
Bayern Munich currently have nine midfielders in the senior squad and Thiago have been linked with an exit this summer.
Speaking back in May, Thiago admitted he was unsure of his Bayern Munich future.
“Let’s see. I told you I renewed with Bayern last year, but it’s very complicated. Football is very difficult,” Thiago said as quoted on Daily Express.
“I’m very much about enjoying the moment.
“You don’t have to focus on the future. Now, I’m thinking about the World Cup, I’m living in the present and if a moment comes for you to think about it, I immediately focus on the World Cup.”
