Chelsea players returned for their first pre-season training session on Saturday. The players were put through their paces with fitness and stretching exercises.
The players who returned for preseason on Saturday are those who didn’t feature at the ongoing World Cup in Russia.
Cesc Fabregas, Alvaro Morata, Marcos Alonso, Danny Drinkwater, Pedro, Ethan Ampadu, David Luiz, Davide Zappacosta and Emerson Palmieri were among the players who returned for pre-season training.
Full pre-season training is expected to commence on Monday and according to Daily Mail, the players had only received word from Antonio Conte’s staff this week that they would be returning for a full pre-season training camp starting on Monday.
Even though Conte is currently in charge, Daily Mail claim Maurizio Sarri would be cleared to replace Conte as manager of Chelsea at the start of next week.
