With all said and done, Antonio Conte himself took charge of Chelsea’s first pre-season training on Monday as the Blues prepare for the new season.
Conte was at Cobham on Saturday as some of the Blues squad returned from holiday to undergo fitness and medical tests but did not take part in the light session that was observed.
The Italian was snapped in training by Chelsea TV greeting his players as they arrived for a double session on Monday and took charge of the team’s training.
However, reports still claim that the Italian won’t be taking charge of the team next season and Maurizio Sarri will be the man for the job.
Chelsea will need to sack Conte if they want him to leave the club, and the club will have to pay out the £9million compensation fee he is due.
