Thibaut Courtois has been excellent in the World Cup and helped his team progress to the semifinal after series of excellent saves against Brazil.
With Belgium leading Brazil 2-1, the Chelsea goalie produced numerous saves to deny Brazil an equalizer and was terrific in that game.
Courtois believes Belgium have a great chance of lifting the World Cup and admitted his teammates urged him to produce against the Brazilians.
Courtois then hinted that he was proud of his save that denied Neymar an equalising goal late in the game.
“Four years ago they said we were favourites, but we were a very young generation, we lacked experience,” he said.
“But now… we feel great.
“I felt very good before I started, I was focused from the first minute and at all times I thought we were going to win.
“My teammates told me that if I was good we would beat Brazil and when I saved Neymar’s shot, I said ‘Damn!.’
“I’m proud of that stop.”
