The appointment of a new manager brings new opportunities to players and also closes the door for certain other players.
Every manager has in his mind his philosophy and the kind of player he likes, and Maurizio Sarri isn’t any different.
Chelsea midfield maestro Cesc Fabregas has played under three managers since he moved to Stamford Bridge in 2014, and the Spaniard is set to play for the fourth manager in Maurizio Sarri.
Fabregas has admitted that Sarri’s appointment has kept the players on their toes as everyone is keen on impressing the new Blues boss.
While addressing the media in Australia, Fabregas said: “It is a new start for me and for the players,’ he told the reporters.
“With a new manager we need to prove ourselves and we need to show what we can do and that we deserve to play.
“I have been playing now for 15 years and when you have a new manager you always try to give your best to make sure he sees your quality and that you want to play. I want to play always and you have to show that every day in training and in every game. For everyone it is an exciting time and we start from zero and see what we can do.
“We want to win things and pre-season preparations are very important so starting on Monday, let’s see if we can get a result, we can get the idea of the coach soon and start strong.”
