Despite Antonio Conte overseeing pre-season training on Wednesday, Chelsea are still making moves to appoint Maurizio Sarri as Chelsea boss.
Napoli confirmed on Wednesday morning that Chelsea have made contact over appointing their outgoing manager Maurizio Sarri.
According to Daily Mail, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich convened a meeting in Capri on Monday with Napoli counterpart Aurelio De Laurentiis to go over the finer details of Sarri’s appointment.
Speaking on Italian TV on Wednesday morning, De Laurentiis said of Sarri: “It’s coming soon, then it depends only on him.
“My lawyers have drafted a text that has been submitted to his lawyers and we will see.”
