Reports from Italy claim Chelsea have reached an agreement with Juventus to sign Gonzalo Higuain for £53m.
According to Sport Mediaset, Juventus and Chelsea have now struck a deal for Higuain and the transfer is expected to be made official after Sarri is appointed as Chelsea manager.
This looks to be a Maurizio Sarri signing, although the Italian’s appointment hasn’t yet been finalised.
Chelsea remain in talks to appoint Maurizio Sarri as Antonio Conte’s replacement and the club have also pressed ahead with their summer transfer business, despite the deal not being wrapped up yet.
Higuain smashed Serie A’s scoring record under Sarri’s guidance at Napoli, as he scored the most goals in a single season with 36 goals in the 2015-16 campaign.
Higuain is currently on holiday after Argentina were knocked out of the World Cup by France on Saturday.
