Napoli star Jorginho is currently in London amid reports that a move to Stamford Bridge is imminent for the midfielder.
The 26-year-old was expected to join Premier League champions Manchester City, after City were said to have agreed a deal with Napoli for the Italy international.
However, Jorginho has snubbed a move to City and will prefer to play for Chelsea, as the Napoli midfielder will rather live in London than the city of Manchester.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed that Joginho is moving to Chelsea and cited choice of town as a key factor, while also revealing that Chelsea have offered him higher wages.
He said: “However, for personal reasons I won’t get into, the player prefers to live in London rather than in Manchester, I can understand him.
“If Chelsea pay him more, I can understand it too. So I can just apologize to Khaldoon.
“But it does not depend on me. If Jorginho moves to Chelsea, my agreement with Abramovich does not depend on (Maurizio) Sarri becoming their next manager.”
