Shocking reports claim Chelsea are considering a surprise move for former goalkeeper Petr Cech as a replacement for Thibaut Courtois.
Reports claim Chelsea will only let Courtois go if the Blues can get a good replacement for him this summer. Real Madrid are closing in on a move for the Belgian who has less than a year remaining on his contract with Chelsea and has not committed to a new deal.
Roma’s Alisson is on Chelsea’s shortlist, but the Blues will have to hijack the deal from Liverpool after Jurgen Klopp’s side submitted a £62 million offer on Tuesday.
According to Sky Sports, Chelsea are now considering re-signing Cech from Arsenal this summer. Chelsea sold the 36-year-old to the Gunners for around £10 million three years ago after losing his place to Courtois.
Cech achieved legendary status at the club after over a decade long stay which saw him lift four Premier League titles. Following Arsenal’s signing of Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen, Cech’s status as Arsenal’s No.1 goalkeeper is now under threat, and the Gunners are reportedly keen on letting go of the former Blues No.1.
