Just after Ola Aina joined Italian side Torino on loan, another Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo has joined Spanish side Leganes on a season-long loan deal.
The 24-year-old central defender, who can also play at right-back, moved to Stamford Bridge from Standard Liege in 2012 and has been going out on loan since then.
Omeruo spent last season on loan at Turkish side Kasimpasa, where he made 28 appearances.
He was named in the Nigeria squad for this summer’s World Cup and featured in two of Nigeria’s World Cup games in Russia. He started two matches during the tournament, against Iceland and Argentina, and will now join La Liga side Leganes, who are managed by former Southampton boss Mauricio Pellegrino.
