Thibaut Courtois’ future at Chelsea is quite shaky, and there seems to be a clash of interest.
With just one year left in the goalkeeper’s contract, the 26-year-old has expressed a desire to leave the club, however Chelsea aren’t ready to do that having been unable to sign a replacement for him.
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri confirmed on Friday that he was hopeful that Courtois will stay, but the Belgian’s agent Christophe Henrotay has revealed that Courtois wants to leave and has asked Chelsea to accept Madrid’s offer.
“I have been reading everywhere that Chelsea are saying it is up to Thibaut, but he has made it clear to the club that the best option for him is to move to Madrid,” Christophe Henrotay told the Sun.
“For him this is a big decision because he wants to be near his family, and there is an offer in place for Chelsea to accept.”
