Thibaut Courtois failed to report for pre-season training on Monday in an effort to force a move to Real Madrid, according to Daily Mail.
Chelsea are open to letting the Belgian goalkeeper leave Stamford Bridge this summer but want £45million for the wantaway goalkeeper.
Given Courtois has just 12 months left in his contract, Chelsea are willing to let him join Real Madrid this summer to avoid losing him for nothing next season.
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is aware of Courtois’ decision to leave Chelesea but had hoped to have a face-to-face conversation with the goalkeeper.
Chelsea aren’t willing to sell Courtois without having a replacement and Sarri has reportedly told the board that he wants a goalkeeper that is good with the ball on his feet.
Leicester’s Kasper Schmeichel, Stoke’s Jack Butland and Sevilla’s Sergio Rico are among the names being considered to replace Courtois.
It’s sad that Courtois is being unprofessional and failing to show up for training. I think the club needs to curb this habit of players holding the club to ransom by keeping Courtois at the club and letting him leave for nothing next season.
