Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin must have been happy to see Callum Hudson-Odoi substituted late in the game during Chelsea’s pre-season friendly against Arsenal on Wednesday.
Hudson-Odoi caused the Arsenal defence problems all night as he constantly dribbled past Bellerin.
Hudson-Odoi revealed receiving the ball constantly from his teammates enabled him get at Bellerin as much as possible. He also revealed starting three games in a row helped boost his confidence.
“Today, obviously I think I did well,” Hudson-Odoi told Chelsea TV.
“I was trying to get at him [Bellerin] as much as possible.
“But at the same time the team was giving me the ball, so it was helping me as well to get at him.
“It always boosts my confidence playing three games in a row, as well as starting, because it just gives me more of a lift every time I play.
“I feel like I’m more confident on the ball, I want to get the ball, I want to do my stuff.
“And the more and more chances I get the more I want to impress as well.
“I just want to keep getting chances, hopefully the manager sees that and gives me the opportunity to play and hopefully I keep impressing.”
