Chelsea defender David Luiz, fell down the pecking order under Antonio Conte, making only nine Premier League starts under the Italian last term, as the duo fell out last season.
However, the Brazilian has been handed a lifeline following the appointment of Maurizio Sarri earlier this summer, and it seems he will be a key player in Sarri’s system.
Asked about Luiz’s future, Sarri responded: “I’m very happy with David for his attitude, I’m very happy.
“I think David will be very important for the team and also for me.”
Luiz was being tipped with an exit from Stamford Bridge, but those rumours have died since the appointment of Sarri.
