New Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri will have a very competitive game on Sunday to test how far his squad has adapted to his system.
Chelsea and Manchester City will play each other at the Wembley Stadium on Sunday in a Community Shield clash, and Sarri has revealed that he’s aiming to win this game and start his Chelsea career with a trophy.
“I think it’s very important to start with a trophy, said Sarri.
“At this moment in the season it is also important to see a step forward with our performance, but it’s also very important to win something and we want to do that tomorrow at Wembley.
“It’s going to be a very difficult match that’s for sure, but we want to win the trophy. Every manager wants to do this.
“The Premier League table of last season tells me that Man City got 100 points and Chelsea 70 points, so at this moment there is a big difference. We have to try and reduce the 30 points and I know the only way to do this is through hard work. My job is to improve my players and I will try to do this every day.
“I want to stay here for 10 years. But to do that, I have to win things. It of course depends on the club but I repeat, I would like to stay here for many years.”
