Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has revealed he regrets not signing Gonzalo Higuain this summer.
Sarri had wanted to bring the striker to Stamford Bridge but Higuain eventually joined AC Milan to end a two-year stint at Juventus.
Speaking after Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Huddersfield on Saturday, Sarri told Sky Sports Italia according to Daily Express, about his regrets in the transfer market.
“Higuain? It’s a little regret but in the end everyone after the market has a few little regrets,” Sarri said.
Higuain has also revealed why he chose AC Milan over Chelsea.
“I have huge respect for Sarri, but he was the only one who wanted me at Chelsea,” Higuain said at his Milan unveiling.
“Here at Milan everyone wanted me.
“The motivation and conviction they showed at Milan was fundamental.”
