Chelsea were rumoured to be in the market for a striker during the summer transfer window, but new boss Maurizio eventually settled to stick with Alvaro Morata.

The Spaniard’s poor form has been a cause for concern as he hasn’t found the net in the Premier League since December.

Morata has only scored four times this year, but Maurizio Sarri isn’t concerned about his poor form and insists that the 25-year-old only needs to gain confidence.

He told the media: “I am not worried about Morata. He is a great player. In this moment he needs only to gain confidence, but he is a great player.

“Maybe he is low on confidence. He needs to score, as do all the strikers in the world. He is improving so I am not really worried about him.”
