Cesc Fabregas was an important player for Maurizio Sarri during pre-season, but the Spaniard has suffered a knee injury that has kept him away from the team since the start of the season.

In his press conference today, Sarri revealed that Fabregas is still out injured but he is recovering now and could return to training next week.

“Cesc is still out,” he said.

“He is working in water. We hope that next week he will be able to work on the pitch. I am sure the injury is not serious, but he has pain in the knee.

“The pain is still there so for him it is impossible to run on the pitch, only in water.”
