Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek wants to stay and fight for his place despite the arrival of Mateo Kovacic, according to Daily Mail.
Kovacic completed his loan move to Chelsea today as part of a deal that saw Thibaut Courtois move in the opposite direction for £35million.
Loftus-Cheek will seek to move abroad on loan if Maurizio Sarri does not afford him enough game time, given Chelsea’s wealth of midfield options now.
The 22-year-old midfielder is hopeful of proving himself with some game time in the first team at Stamford Bridge.
Loftus-Cheek cut short his post-World Cup holiday in order to impress new boss Sarri, who has revealed he would wait to see how he performs before making a decision on him
“Loftus-Cheek I have seen him just for three, four trainings,” Sarri said. “I want to wait to adjudicate.”
