Chelsea have a Community Shield clash with Manchester City on Sunday, and the Blues are looking forward to this game.
It’ll be Maurizio Sarri’s first ‘competitive’ game as Chelsea boss (although the Community Shield is no longer regarded as a competitive game), and could be a pointer to how Sarri’s style has blended.
With many of our World Cup players returning late to camp due to an extended World Cup vacation, Sarri has revealed that the bulk of the team to start against City will be more of the players who took part of the pre-season.
Asked if any of his World Cup stars would start on Sunday, Sarri said: “I don’t know. I want to see the last two training sessions.
“Maybe the starting XI will be very, very near to the last match. But maybe something different can happen.
“I don’t know. I want to see the last two training sessions and then tomorrow morning I will decide.”
