Serie A side AC Milan are preparing a January bid for Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas according to Italian media outfit Corriere dello Sport.
The Spaniard is in the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge and Chelsea could be willing to let him leave in January to stop him leaving as a free agent next summer.
The 31-year-old has missed all four Premier League games this season after picking up an injury after the Community Shield loss to Manchester City.
The summer arrivals of Jorginho and Kovacic could see Fabregas play a cameo role for Chelsea when he becomes fully fit to play again.
AC Milan sporting director Leonardo Araujo is hoping the good working relationship between Chelsea and AC Milan which saw Tiemoue Bakayoko join Milan on a season-long loan deal can also help them secure the signature of Fabregas.
