Chelsea kick-started their Europa League clash with a 1-0 victory over PAOK away at Greece.

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri hinted that he was going to name a weakened side for the Europa League clash, and many expected youngsters like Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Ethan Ampadu and Callum Hudson-Odoi to get a run in.

Sarri revealed before the game that he will only make five changes to the team that defeated Cardiff City 4-1, and true to his words, he made five changes. Howbeit it was still an experienced side, with Willian, Ross Barkley, Davide Zappacosta, Andreas Christensen and Alvaro Morata the five changes.

Chelsea fans were unhappy with Sarri’s line-up before the game as many were looking forward to seeing Ampadu, Hudson-Odoi and Loftus-Cheek given a chance, but only Loftus-Cheek was able to make the squad.

At the end, it was a hard-fought victory for Chelsea as Sarri’s men wasted chances to get the win. Sarri ended up bringing in Fabregas, Cesar Azpilicueta and Olivier Giroud in the second-half, with Loftus-Cheek not getting his chance.
