Chelsea youngster Andreas Christensen has revealed he’s itching to play in tonight’s Carabao Cup game against Liverpool at Anfield Stadium.
The Dane international who was key for Chelsea last season at some point in Antonio Conte’s reign has found game hard to come by this season.
The 22-year-old made his first appearance in the Europa League game against PAOK Salonika last week, and even failed to make the bench against West Ham on Sunday.
Christensen has revealed he wants to play against the Reds in the Carabao Cup clash and show the manager what he’s capable of doing.
He told the Evening Standard: “If I get a chance to face Liverpool, I have to take it — like I did last week in the Europa League.
“Now that I have got some of the rust out of the way by playing against PAOK, I hope to play as many minutes as I can.
“There could be a lot more games coming up if we go through against Liverpool as well as the Europa League.
“I hope I will have more of a chance to show the manager what I’m capable of.”
Sarri currently prefers the partnership of David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger, while Christensen seems to be the third choice.
