Former Chelsea youngster Dominic Solanke left Chelsea for Liverpool last year after refusing to sign a new contract with the Blues.

Solanke who came through the Chelsea ranks was eventually snapped up by Liverpool in a move that angered the Chelsea fans.

Solanke was a highly rated prospect and many saw him as a great talent for the future, but so far he has failed to make it through even for the Reds.

Another Chelsea youngster Andreas Christensen has revealed that the players were sad to see Solanke leave the club.

“He is a great player and we were all sorry when he left Chelsea,” Christensen told the Evening Standard.

“It’s always sad to see a young player leave us. But I hope we get a chance to play against each other.

“What makes him so hard to mark?

“He has good movement, he knows when to run in behind and when to drop off. He is also clinical with goal-scoring chances.”

Solanke could have a role to play in tonight’s Carabao Cup third round clash as Jurgen Klopp might rest a few of his senior players ahead of this weekend’s clash.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
