Eden Hazard has proven himself in the Premier League since joining Chelsea in 2012. Hazard has won two PFA Player of the Year awards and has been in superlative form since the World Cup.
After leading Belgium to third position in the World Cup during the summer, the Belgian has been on fire for the Blues and has banged in six goals in all competitions this season.
Plaudits have been pouring in all over the place for Hazard, and Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri took it one step further by admitting he’s currently the best in the world – and this has since sparked debates in the media.
However, in Chelsea’s 2-1 win against Liverpool, Hazard showed his world-class status by taking the ball from wide, drifting into Liverpool box after jinxing a number of Reds defenders and smashed an unbelievable shot past Mignolet.
Arsenal legend Paul Merson has now admitted that Hazard is by far the best player in the Premier League.
“I think Hazard is the best player in the Premier League by a long way,” the former Arsenal and England player told Sky Sports.
“I don’t think anyone can do what he does and that’s what makes him better than everyone else in my opinion.
“On Wednesday, he beat three players, passed it, got it back and then beat two more players before smashing it in the corner.
“For me, no one else can do that in the Premier League. There are players who can go past people but they haven’t got that end product he’s got.”
