Eden Hazard has been known for many things, but scoring goals haven’t been one of them. However, we are seeing a different Hazard this season.
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has urged Hazard to reach 40+ goals this season, and it’s looking like a reality as the Belgian has already banged in six goals.
Hazard is now taking more shots and making more advances at goal. The Belgian isn’t afraid of taking more risks and running at goal – something we haven’t really seen in him in previous seasons.
Hazard has responded to Sarri’s demand and has revealed that he doesn’t really have a target for goals but wants to win trophies.
He said: “I don’t have (goal) targets to be fair—my only target is to win something every year. I want to win trophies.
“It is not important how many goals I score. You know me, I don’t care about that. I just want to enjoy my football and win games.
“At the moment I am scoring goals, that is why everyone is talking for me to be in the top three (players in the world). It is a pleasure to be there. I just want to keep going. I am the same player as two years ago, three years ago. I’m now in a period that I score a lot of goals, and hopefully I keep on scoring.”
