Chelsea defeated Liverpool in the Carabao Cup third round clash at Anfield on Wednesday night. It was a tightly contested game, but one that was sealed by a certain Eden Hazard.
The two sides will meet again on Saturday for a Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge, and another tight battle is expected between the two title aspirants.
Although Liverpool lost to Chelsea on Wednesday, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he’s happy with his team ahead of the game,
Klopp revealed that he’s happy with his team’s defence and how his side defended against Chelsea.
Klopp said: “I was happy with how we adapted in the end. But still we lost. It’s not a problem, that can happen.
“The result is the most important thing, but performance is also important especially for analysis. It was interesting to see how we adapted in such a short time.
“We are competitive. That’s what we have to show again. The Chelsea game was a very interesting game.
“We needed time to adapt without the ball. It felt like things weren’t comfortable. It was because of little, little details. It was a big challenge for the boys.”
Liverpool have the best defence in the league so far having only conceded just two goals in six games. Klopp’s side currently top the table with 18 points as they are yet to drop points in the league this season.
