Chelsea star Eden Hazard won’t be part of the team that would face PAOK on Thursday.
The 27-year-old asked to be rested for Chelsea’s Europa League opener after complaining of tiredness.
“He told me that after the national team and after the match against Cardiff he was a little bit tired,” Sarri said of his decision to rest Hazard.
“I thought it was better to stay in Cobham, to have training and to rest.”
Eden Hazard, who scored a hat-trick in Chelsea’s 4-1 win over Cardiff City on Saturday, is expected to return to the team when Chelsea visit West Ham on Sunday.
Hazard isn’t the only player who didn’t make the trip to Greece as Chelsea defender David Luiz has also been rested for the match against PAOK.
Mateo Kovacic, who picked a knock in the win over Cardiff City on Saturday and left-back Emerson Palmieri, were also not part of the squad that travelled to Greece on Thursday.
Even though these players didn’t travel for the game, Chelsea are still expected to win in Greece with the likes of Willian, Ross Barkley and Alvaro Morata expected to start on Thursday.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who failed to make the team against Cardiff City on Saturday due to injury, travelled to Greece.
