Chelsea’s perfect start to the season was put to a halt on Sunday after the Blues were held to a goalless draw at the London Stadium by West Ham.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side frustrated Chelsea with a defensive style of play and Maurizio Sarri’s Sarri-ball couldn’t get a win on the day.
The draw took Chelsea to third spot after being top of the table for two weeks, and Liverpool currently top the pile.
Many questions are being asked about Chelsea’s title credibility, with the title fight seeming like a three-horse race between Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City.
Despite Chelsea’s bright start to the season, there are many doubts that the Blues can win the league, with questions asked about our defence and lack of a quality striker.
Premier League legend Alan Shearer also revealed his doubts about Chelsea’s title fight and he believes that this weekend’s game against Liverpool will prove if Chelsea have what it takes to win the league this season.
“I have my reservations as to whether Chelsea can maintain this sound start with a result against Liverpool for a number of reasons,” he wrote in The Sun.
“The goal threat is Hazard’s alone as Olivier Giroud is not going to get you 20 goals, while Alvaro Morata is shorn of confidence.
“The chance Morata spurned when he tried to flick the ball over the keeper yesterday showed that.
“At the back there are worries, too.
“Liverpool’s front three can take full advantage of the space Marcos Alonso leaves behind him if he bombs as far forward as he likes to.”
