Ross Barkley was rewarded for his dying minute goal against Manchester United with a start in Chelsea’s game against Burnley at the Turf Moor.
The Chelsea midfielder was in superb form at the Turf Moor and he got an assist and a goal for the Blues as Chelsea defeated Burnley 4-0.
Barkley was the star of the match, and he is the first Englishman to score in three consecutive Premier League games for Chelsea since Frank Lampard in February 2013.
Maurizio Sarri spoke highly of Barkley after the game and insisted that the 24-year-old is now a complete player.
He said: “Barkley is doing very well. In this period, he is playing really very well.
“He has improved very much in the defensive phase. He has improved his physical condition. Last season was very difficult with a very serious injury.
“He is a very good player from the technical point of view. Now I think Ross is complete.”
Kovacic is Sarri’s first choice for the attacking midfield role, but Barkley and even Ruben Loftus-Cheek are proving that they can rival the Croatian for that position.
