Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater is reportedly not in a hurry to leave Stamford Bridge despite playing just 30 minutes of football this season under Maurizio Sarri, a report on Daily Mail claims.
Drinkwater has failed to appear on the pitch for Chelsea after coming in as a substitute in the 2-0 Community Shield loss to Manchester City in August at Wembley.
Chelsea host Hungarian outfit Vidi at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night but Drinkwater will be unable to feature as he wasn’t registered for the Europa League.
The 28-year-old midfielder is reportedly prepared to wait until the end of the season for the right move despite failing to get game time under Sarri.
Chelsea were reportedly willing to let Drinkwater leave during the summer but the 28-year-old refused to leave until he knew where he stood under Sarri.
Drinkwater moved to Chelsea from Leicester City last summer on transfer deadline day. He reportedly earns around £100,000 weekly. Chelsea will find it difficult to offload the 28-year-old swiftly with suitors unlikely to match those wages.
