A fortnight ago, Chelsea defender Gary Cahill revealed he was looking to leaving Chelsea in January after failing to feature in Chelsea’s first six games this season.
Cahill has since played three times for Chelsea after revealing his frustration at his lack of game time and following Chelsea’s Europa League win over Vidi on Thursday, Cahill hinted he is prepared to stay at Chelsea until the end of the season.
Cahill said: “We won the Europa League in 2013 and it was an amazing night, an amazing feeling. I take those memories and think to myself, ‘I want to do that again’.
“This year, we are in the Europa League and we will try to win this. For me, it’s just about getting out there playing as much as I can.
“I’m ambitious in everything I do. That is never going to change. I’m excited to see how far this team can go.”
Cahill also insisted he is fit and ready whenever he’s called upon by Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri.
Cahill added: “I feel like I’m fit and in good form.
“I feel really fresh. I am ready whenever I’m called upon, whenever I’m needed.”
