Chelsea star Eden Hazard has been named the Premier League Player of the Month after scoring five goals in four Premier League games in the month of September to help Chelsea maintain our unbeaten start to the season.
Hazard scored a hat-trick against Cardiff City at Stamford Bridge, while also finding the net against Bournemouth and title rivals Liverpool.
Hazard beat competition from Willy Boly of Wolves, Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette, James Maddison of Leicester City, Gylfi Sigurdsson of Everton and Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling to win the award after receiving the most combined votes from a panel of experts, Premier League captains, and from fans.
Surprisingly, this is just the second time Hazard is winning the monthly award, having done so in October 2016.
Hazard already has eight goals for Chelsea this season, his best start to a season and he believes he is currently the best player in the world.
Asked if he is currently the best player in the world, Hazard said: “Yes.
“The team is helping me a lot also. I can improve for sure. We can always improve in football.
“We can score more goals, more assists. But honestly, I think I have been in better shape before than I am now.
“Statistically speaking, this is as good a start as I have ever had. But on the pitch in my general performance, I have played better for both Lille and Chelsea.”
