Chelsea legend Frank Lampard will return to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday as Chelsea take on his Derby team in the Carabao Cup.
Lampard is enjoying some early success as Derby boss with his side sixth in the Championship, just four points behind table-toppers Sheffield United.
Ahead of Chelsea’s Carabao Cup with Derby, Lampard joked Hazard is scared of his Derby team.
Hazard has been impressive this season, topping the Premier League’s scoring chart with seven goals in just nine games.
Lampard hailed Hazard as the best in the world on current form.
“He is an absolutely outstanding player in world football,” Lampard declared.
“Let’s hope he wants a rest.
“I think he’s scared of coming up against my team!
“On current form, I think he is (the best in the world).
“Of course, that can change.
“But I love watching him and he’s in his prime.”
