Chelsea star Eden Hazard has revealed his desire to play for Spanish giants Real Madrid and he has made it known that Real Madrid are the club of his dreams.
However, Chelsea were adamant on keeping him and refused to sell him during the summer transfer window.
Hazard has now revealed that Chelsea made it clear to him in the summer that he won’t be leaving at any cost.
“Chelsea were clear with me [in the summer]. I couldn’t leave the club,” the Belgium international told Telefoot.
“I accepted it. Anyway… leaving or staying, I was going to be happy. I do not regret this decision at all.
“When decisions are made [that you may not like] you can sulk and often you get the last word. But I will never look to clash with the club.
“Chelsea have given me a lot. I left Lille on good terms and I want to do the same thing here.
“A transfer in January? It’s not possible.”
Hazard’s stock has risen since he performed tremendously in the World Cup, and he has taken that form to the new season with Chelsea where he has been the best player in the league so far. Hazard tops the goalscoring chart in the league with seven goals in eight appearances, and he has also been shortlisted for the Ballon d’Or awards.
While Chelsea did well to keep the Belgium captain, his contract will be left with one year at the end of the season. The big question is: can Chelsea keep hold of Hazard again?
