Chelsea’s game against Liverpool last weekend wasn’t just a difficult one, but it was an entertaining game as well with end-to-end football as both teams laboured to get the win.
At the end, it was a 1-1 draw with former Blue Danny Sturridge scoring a late stunner to cancel out Eden Hazard’s opening goal.
After the game, Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri was seen whispering words and smiling at Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp as both managers exchanged pleasantries, and Klopp has now revealed what the Chelsea boss told him.
Speaking ahead of their game against Manchester City, Klopp was asked if he enjoys how end-to-end many Liverpool matches are, and he replied: “If you win at the end, yes. During the game, yes.
“I had it last week after we drew at Chelsea, when I turned to Maurizio Sarri and he was smiling, and he looked at me and said ‘you enjoyed that, eh?’ and I was like, ‘Yeah, actually I do’.”
Chelsea fans will be looking at this weekend’s encounter between Liverpool and City with a keen eye and even Eden Hazard had to tell Sturridge to score another stunner against Pep Guardiola’s side.
“Great goal…just make sure you do it again next weekend,” Hazard told Sturridge as reported by BT Sport reporter Des Kelly.
Chelsea’s game against Southampton comes up before the game at Anfield, and a win for the Blues will lift Chelsea to top of the table pending results at Anfield.
