Chelsea were on the verge of a second victory over Liverpool in four days before a late long-range effort by Daniel Sturridge saw the match end in a draw.
Chelsea defender David Luiz has spoken of his disappointment at conceding a late goal to Liverpool on Saturday despite all the efforts of the team to secure a win.
“It is frustrating when you do those kind of things and then you concede a goal at the end, but we have to admit it was a great shot for the equaliser,” Luiz said.
“It was also a great game. Both sides played really, really well, two great coaches and teams, many fantastic players. It was great for those people watching.
“We tried to do our best to win the game and we continue to work hard every day.
“The season is long, it’s just the beginning. Let’s continue to play.”
Eden Hazard scored his sixth goal of the season against Liverpool and Luiz hailed the Belgian as one of the best in the game.
“He’s one of the best for sure,” Luiz added.
“What he is doing is great. I am so happy for him.
“He’s a big friend and a big player, and he had another amazing game. He is doing better and better every week.”
