Chelsea were expected to beat Vidi FC mercilessly in the Europa League clash at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night, but it wasn’t to be as the Blues had a difficult game against the Hungarian champions.

Vidi defended well and had some dangerous opportunities too, but a 70th minute goal from Alvaro Morata made the difference in the game.

See how the players are rated from this game:

Kepa: Made some good saves that aided Chelsea’s clean sheet. Had a good game. 7/10

Cahill: Was very reliable but had a moment where he was lucky to escape after fouling a Vidi player just at the edge of the box. 6.5/10

Christensen: Had a decent game at the back but a mix up with Kepa after a moment of uncertainty caused a scare. 6/10

Zappacosta: Had a decent game, got into decent positions but his end product was poor at times. 6/10

Emerson: Some of his end products were below par at times, but the Brazilian was a joy to watch as his skills were on display many times during the game. 6.5/10

Fabregas: kept it nice and simple as he sat at the base of midfield. Played some good passes and was involved in the goal scored by Morata. 6.5/10

Kovacic: Was just average today and could barely do much to break open a resilient Vidi side. 5/10

Loftus-Cheek: Was one of the best players on the pitch while he was on. Made some good forward runs, worked hard to win the ball, and was unlucky not to have gotten a penalty after a brilliant run into the Vidi box. 7/10

Willian: Didn’t really do enough in this game but contributed his quota with a brilliant assist for Morata. 6/10

Pedro: Didn’t have the best of games on his return from injury but he put in a strong performance. Was full of energy and running before his substitution in the second half. 6/10

Morata: He missed an absolute sitter in the first half but made up for it by scoring a beautiful goal in the second half. Didn’t have the best of games but he scored the much-needed winner. 6.5/10

Subs

Hazard: added a bit of flair after coming on for Pedro before the hour mark. 6/10

Barkley: Came on for Loftus-Cheek with a little over 20 minutes to go and he looked pretty lively. 6/10

Moses: Came on for Willian with less than 20 minutes to go, but didn’t do much to influence the game. 5/10
