Chelsea signed Tiemoue Bakayoko for £40million from Monaco in 2017, but the Frenchman’s career in England didn’t go as planned.
Bakayoko struggled in his first season in the Premier League and couldn’t cope with the pace and tenacity in the English game, having moved from the French league.
After one year where he struggled under Antonio Conte, Bakayoko was then loaned out to AC Milan on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy.
However, it seems that the 24-year-old is struggling in the Serie A, and Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso has complained about the France international.
Gattuso recently complained about Bakayoko and suggested that he has failed to catch up with the team’s tactics and will need to do more in training.
“Bakayoko needs to be helped, as he is struggling,” said Gattuso.
“The tactics haven’t been drilled into his head yet and evidently it’s my fault, we need to do more work with him in training.
“He has been here for two months and we haven’t yet been able to get him to understand the movements.
“It is our duty to improve him as a player, because he does have a lot of quality and we’re not finding that yet.”
Bakayoko is yet to start for Milan and has been reduced to four appearances from the bench.
Milan have an option to buy him in the summer but Corriere dello Sport claim if Bakayoko fails to impress then Milan will likely cancel his loan deal in January and send him back to Stamford Bridge.
