Chelsea will play BATE Borisov on Thursday night in a Europa League clash, and Blues boss Maurizio Sarri has revealed that Eden Hazard will be unavailable for the clash due to injury, and he also confirmed that Ethan Ampadu will be missing in action as well.
He said: “He’s out. He’s got a back problem. We’re trying to solve the problem for Sunday. (Ethan) Ampadu is also out.”
Sarri has also revealed that he will hand Jorginho a rest for this clash as Chelsea play Burnley three days after meeting BATE.
“I don’t know,” Sarri said when asked if there would be changes at his pre-match press conference.
“We have to play after five days from the last match. The problem will be on Sunday as we have to play after 65 hours. We have to change something. Jorginho needs to rest now.
He added: “For sure Jorginho. I need to think very well as the problem is the next match after 65 hours. Maybe five or six.”
Callum Hudson-Odoi is yet to make an appearance this season and Sarri has admitted that the youngster may not feature in this clash.
He said: “I don’t know about (Callum) Hudson-Odoi but (Ruben) Loftus-Cheek maybe.”
