Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri revealed after Chelsea’s 3-1 Europa League victory over BATE Borisov that he wasn’t impressed with Chelsea’s inability to keep a clean sheet.
The undisputed man of the match was Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who scored a hat-trick to help Chelsea secure a comfortable victory.
Sarri was impressed with Chelsea’s performance for 65 minutes but was unhappy with Chelsea’s performance in the last 20 minutes.
“The target in the short period is to qualify and then to win the group,” Sarri told BT Sport.
“We played very well for 65 minutes and not very well in the last 20 minutes. It was a good match.
“When we conceded the goal I didn’t like it very much. I don’t know why but I prefer the clean sheet.”
Loftus-Cheek has failed to get regular game time for Chelsea this season but Sarri revealed after the game that the 22-year-old is now suited to his style of play.
“At the beginning of the season he (Loftus-Cheek) was a very good player and now he is a good player that is more suited to my style of football,” Sarri said.
