Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has formed a good partnership with Jorginho as they both joined Chelsea during the summer transfer window.

Sarri used Jorginho to good effect during his time in Napoli, and brought him after he was confirmed as Chelsea manager.

Jorginho has been central to Chelsea’s success story so far under Sarri. The 26-year-old sits deep in midfield and orchestrates play from a deep central midfield position, and he has done well to set many records in the Premier League already with his style of football.

Chelsea’s dominance in games that results in a higher possession of the ball comes at the back of Jorginho’s effectiveness in central midfield. However, one may ask what will be of Chelsea if there’s any injury to Jorginho.

Ahead of Thursday’s Europa League clash against Mol Vidi, Sarri has revealed that Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas shares the same role with the former Napoli midfielder and will be the one to deputise the Italy international.

Sarri said: “Cesc did very well in the last 30 minutes in Greece and very well for 90 minutes in Liverpool. He has to improve his physical condition of course but he is a great option in this position.

“Cesc is very good in moving the ball, like Jorginho, more than Jorginho, so we don’t need to change the style of football with Fabregas.”

Fabregas who has missed most part of the season due to injury started for the first time this season in our Carabao Cup game against Liverpool where Chelsea won 2-1, and the Spaniard was especially great in the first-half in that fixture.

The Spaniard is expected to start against Mol Vidi on Thursday as Sarri plans to make many changes to his starting eleven against the Hungarian side.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
