Chelsea will play host to Hungarian side Mol Vidi in the Europa League clash at Stamford Bridge on Thursday evening.
The Blues started their Europa League campaign with a 1-0 win over PAOK two weeks ago despite dominating the game against the Greek side.
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri made five changes for our first group game in the Europa League, away in Greece against PAOK, and he has revealed that he could make up to seven changes for the visit of Mol Vidi.
Pedro and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have been out for a while due to injury, and Sarri is keen on giving starts to the duo if they are available for the game, and he has revealed that he’ll confirm their physical status before making his final decision.
Sarri said in his press conference ahead of the game: “I have to speak to Pedro who is doing better, like Loftus-Cheek.
“I think tomorrow every player is available but I have to change five, six or seven players. I don’t know yet, I want to see the training this afternoon and the last training tomorrow morning.”
Sarri will be excited to have Pedro back in the team having admitted that he missed the Spaniard who was unavailable for Chelsea’s goalless draw at West Ham two Sundays ago after picking up an injury during Chelsea’s 1-0 Europa League win at PAOK.
“Pedro, for us, is very important because he is the best player we have with movement without the ball,” Sarri said after the goalless draw at West Ham.
“So, in this moment of the season, Pedro is a very important player.”
