Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi is one of the highly rated youngsters to have come through the ranks at Chelsea, and many are expecting great things from the 17-year-old in the near future.

The Chelsea youngster was the team’s best player in pre-season, and many thought that he will be given a chance to show his worth under Maurizio Sarri this season. But it hasn’t gone according to plans for Chelsea fans as Hudson-Odoi is yet to make a single appearance this season.

It was expected that Hudson-Odoi will be given a chance against Hungarian side MOL Vidi FC at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night. However, Sarri failed to feature the teenager, and the 17-year-old didn’t even make the bench for this fixture.

Fans expected that Hudson-Odoi will grow under the guidance of Sarri, but some supporters have now given up on the Italian and thinks that he’s like former bosses Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte who failed to give youngsters tangible chances to shine during their time at Stamford Bridge.

The fans were unhappy that Hudson-Odoi couldn’t at least make the bench.  See some of their tweets below:

In his pre-match press conference ahead of this game, Sarri hinted that either of Eden Hazard and Hudson-Odoi will feature in the Europa League clash, and it was Hazard who came on in the second half, while Hudson-Odoi didn’t make the bench.

Sarri said: “For sure not both – Hazard or Hudson-Odoi I think.

“I said a couple of weeks ago that the period from the first international break to the second is like my pre-season so I would like to see every player in this period, so maybe tomorrow it is time to see Loftus-Cheek I think. I don’t know about Hudson-Odoi at the moment.”
