Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek scored a hat-trick in Chelsea’s Europa League 3-1 victory over BATE Borisov on Thursday.
Following his performance against BATE Borisov, UEFA have rewarded Loftus-Cheek by giving him the Europa League Player of the Week award.
Loftus-cheek is yet to start a Premier League game for Chelsea this season but has started two Europa League games, the 1-0 victory over Vidi and the 3-1 victory over BATE Borisov.
Loftus-cheek’s hat-trick against BATE Borisov was the first by a Chelsea player in an European competition since Didier Drogba netted three times against Levski Sofia in the Champions League back in 2006.
The 22-year-old midfielder is the sixth Chelsea player to score a hat-trick in an European competition, alongside Drogba, Gianluca Vialli, Tommy Baldwin, Peter Osgood, and Terry Venables.
Loftus-cheek has played just 33 minutes of Premier League football this season, should he start against Burnley on Sunday?
