Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has revealed that Eden Hazard will be unavailable for the clash against BATE Borisov due to injury.
Sarri said: “He’s out. He’s got a back problem. We’re trying to solve the problem for Sunday.”
Hazard was badly handled by Manchester United players in the 2-2 draw between Chelsea and United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
Hazard was fouled five times during the game – more than any other player on the pitch, with Ashley Young and Nemanja Matic both receiving yellow cards for fouls on the Chelsea star.
Speaking at his media conference ahead of our third group-stage game against Belarus side BATE Borisov, Sarri was asked whether Manchester United had been too aggressive in their challenges on Hazard in our Premier League meeting at the weekend. However, Sarri didn’t really see much wrong in United’s aggressive approach.
“I like very much English football also for that,” answered Sarri. “It is normal to have the same questions with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. It is normal I think. We have no problem with Manchester United in particular.”
