Mason Mount is on a season-long at Championship side Derby County, and the 19-year-old is having a good season under Blues legend Frank Lampard, who’s the manager of the club.
Mount is highly rated at Chelsea and he has been in excellent form so far this season under the tutelage of Derby boss Frank Lampard, scoring five goals in all competitions, including in the first two rounds of the Carabao Cup.
Chelsea assistant manager Gianfranco Zola has hailed Mount ahead of their visit to Stamford Bridge, and Zola has revealed that Mount is a Chelsea kind of player and he can’t wait to have him back at the Bridge.
Zola said: “I came across him when I first arrived here and was analysing the players we had on loan. He was one of the first players I analysed, and I said this player is for us.
“The plan was to keep him with us at least for pre-season, but then an opportunity to send him to play in England, in such a competitive league like the Championship, came up, and the club decided it was good for him.
“I like him very much. He is one of those players who has the mental speed to work things out very quickly. You can see that in the way he plays.
“Physically he has to improve. The Premier League is a different level, but he is getting on very well. I am pleased for him, and I am looking forward to seeing him play tomorrow at Stamford Bridge. He will be up for it and it will give us even more indications.”
