Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen broke into the first team last season under Antonio Conte and was one of Conte’s preferred defenders in his back three.
After impressing in his two-year loan spell in Germany, Christensen also impressed for the Blues last season but has found games hard to get under new boss Maurizio Sarri as Sarri prefers the partnership of Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz.
The 22-year-old is yet to feature in the Premier League this season, and has only made six appearances so far this term – four times in the Europa League and twice in the League Cup, and so far this is in stark contrast to last season where he made 40 appearances in all competitions and 27 league appearances.
AC Milan who are having defensive issues are monitoring Christensen’s situation at Chelsea and could make a move for the Denmark international in January.
Christensen’s father and agent Sten suggested last month that his son could leave Chelsea when the transfer window re-opens in January if his situation doesn’t change soon.
“If his situation doesn’t change around Christmas, we’ll obviously schedule a chat with Chelsea and say, ‘Okay, what can we do for Andreas? Can We move him?’” he said on Danish TV.
