Chelsea beat PAOK 4-0 at Stamford Bridge on Thursday with Olivier Giroud scoring a brace and Callum Hudson-Odoi and Alvaro Morata also getting on the score sheet.
It was a fine performance from Chelsea after the awful display in the 3-1 loss to Tottenham on Saturday.
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri was pleased with the approach to the game.
Asked if he was happy with the performance, Sarri said: “I think that, first of all, we approached the match very well.
“I am very happy with this because, in the last three matches, we had big problems to get into the match.
“It was really very good, especially because, before the match, we knew very well that we were first in our group after the result of BATE Borisov. So it wasn’t very easy to find a big motivation. For this, I’m really very happy.”
Asked if the performance changes things about Sunday against Fulham, Sarri replied: “No. Because, in the last match, the problem was the team. Not one or two players. So I think that if there were two different players, it would have been the same. The big problem was the team.”
Chelsea will return to Premier League action on Sunday with the visit of Fulham to Stamford Bridge. Sarri will be hoping Chelsea approach the game as they did against PAOK on Thursday night.
